Puustelli's environmental programme

Since the welfare of the environment is paricularly highly valued at Puustelli, we have developed an environmental programme that is scrupulously followed in every phase of the supply chain.

Wood is an important raw material for Puustelli; all the timber we use comes from forests with replanting programmes. As the wood industry’s main sources of emissions are the solvents used in surface treatments, Puustelli utilises primarily waterborne treatment substances that are more environmentally- and user-friendly. We have invested substantially in environmentally friendly processes as well as waste sorting. The utilisation of materials has been rationalised, and optimised recycling procedures minimise the amounts of waste transported to dump sites. With respect to heating energy, Puustelli is self-sufficient. In the future as well, Puustelli intends to remain at the forefront in the development of an environmentally friendlier furniture industry. For that reason we are continuously seeking new challenges in the area of environmental protection.
